Nigel Godrich (born February 28, 1971 ) is an English music producer who was best known for his work with the band Radiohead .

After he had already worked as a sound engineer and partly as a producer on the EP My Iron Lung and the album The Bends , OK Computer (1997) was the first album he produced completely . He has produced every Radiohead album since then and is dubbed the sixth Radiohead member due to his great influence on the sound and development of the band.

He has also worked as a producer and sound engineer for Travis , Beck , Pavement , Air , Neil Finn , Natalie Imbruglia , Silver Sun , The Sundays , U2 , The Beta Band and REM . In 2005, he produced Sir Paul McCartney's critically acclaimed Chaos and Creation in the Backyard album .

In 2004 he produced the charity single Band Aid 20 . He also starred in the comic book adaptation of Scott Pilgrim against the rest of the world . Since 2009 he has played in the “ supergroupAtoms for Peace , whose debut album Amok was released in 2013.

Godrich produced the album Is This The Life We Really Want? by Roger Waters , which was released in June 2017, 25 years after his last studio album. He was also responsible for the arrangements and sound collages and played keyboards and guitar for some of the songs.
