The Sundays were a British alternative rock band. The group was formed in the late 1980s and released three albums in the 1990s.

history

The band was formed when Harriet Wheeler (born June 26, 1963) and guitarist David Gavurin met at the University of Bristol . Shortly thereafter, bassist Paul Brindley and drummer Patrick Hannan joined them.

The Sundays then got a record deal with Rough Trade Records . Her debut single was Can't be Sure ; the band's first album was called Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic and was released in 1990, along with their next single Here's Where the Story Ends . The album was a top 5 hit in the UK.

In the period that followed, the band released two more commercially successful albums: 1992 Blind, which was placed in the top 15 in Great Britain, and in 1997 Static & Silence, which again achieved a top 10 placement in England.

Singer Harriet Wheeler and guitarist David Gavurin are a couple; they have two children together.
