18 Months (German: 18 months ) is the third studio album by the Scottish singer and producer Calvin Harris . It was released worldwide in October 2012, reaching number one in England and number two in Ireland. Eight singles have been released from this album so far, all of which have made it into the top 10 in the UK. He holds the record in this country with the most top 10 singles from a single album, now ahead of Michael Jackson's Bad and Dangerous albums, each with seven releases.

Emergence

The album title is both an allusion to the long production time of the album. Eighteen months before the album was finished, Harris decided to focus on music production and DJing . Harris enjoyed working with the guest artists because they were musicians with whom he had wanted to work in the studio for a long time. On the other hand, it was a sales-promoting experiment for him in which he wanted to find out how many well-known musicians he could bring together on this album. In addition, the participation of these artists was a reason for the long duration of the album. While some people were skeptical whether this experiment would work at all, the success of the first single We Found Love with Rihanna dispelled those doubts.
