Feel So Close is a song by Scottish DJ and music producer Calvin Harris . The song is the second single from the album 18 Months and was released on August 19, 2011.
Musical
Feel So Close was written and produced by Harris. Harris also does the singing in the song. The song, composed in four-four time and in C major , has a tempo of 130 beats per minute . Lyrically, Feel So Close only consists of one stanza, which is repeated a second time. Towards the end of the song the text “And there's no stopping us right now” is repeated several times.
Reviews
The Billboard magazine wrote that it was "brilliant idea" one that Harris has sung the song himself. The magazine also stated that “ Feel So Close was cleverly placed at the beginning of 18 Months , alongside its other monster hit ( We Found Love )”. Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song four out of five stars and described it as an "intoxicating club killer thing".
Commercial win
In the British music charts , Feel So Close went straight to number two on September 3, 2011, which is also the highest position in these charts. For Harris it was the sixth top 10 win in the UK. In the following three weeks, the song was able to stay in the top 10. On December 10, 2011, the song was listed for the last time in the charts. Feel So Close got re- entries in January, February, March, September and November of 2012. In total, the song spent 24 weeks in the UK single charts. Feel So Close was awarded a platinum record by the British Phonographic Industry for over 600,000 copies sold . Feel So Close entered the US Billboard Hot 100 on February 25, 2012 at number 90. On April 28, 2012, the song reached number 12, its highest position in these charts. It was Harris' first chart placement in the United States as a solo artist, previously he had only been on these charts with We Found Love . Overall, the song stayed in these charts for 25 weeks. Feel So Close has sold over 2.1 million copies in the United States.
It wasn't until 2013 that the song made it onto the Swiss charts . Chart placements in Germany and Austria did not succeed. Further top 10 placements were achieved in Australia (7th place), Ireland (2nd place), Canada (9th place) and New Zealand (5th place)
