Ann-Kathrin Otto (born January 8, 1968 in Osnabrück ) is a German illustrator , set designer , theater painter , presenter , singer and model .

life and career

Ann-Kathrin Otto grew up in Cologne . Her brother Tilmann Otto appears as a reggae singer and musician under the stage name Gentleman . Her father is an Evangelical Lutheran pastor who also, from 2010 to 2011, in the comedy telecast Old Ass Bastards was seen.

After graduating from high school, Otto worked for her art teacher, the Cologne artist-photographer couple Anna and Bernd Blume. She trained as a theater painter at the Bonn Opera and graduated from the Berlin State Opera . Later she completed additional training as a film set designer at IFS Cologne.

Otto has been working as a freelance set designer, storyboard draftsman and stage painter for theater , film and television productions since 1992 .

At the beginning of her career Otto designed theater sets throughout Germany, in the 1990s mostly at the Theater am Dom. She produced television studio designs for the broadcasters WDR , VOX , RTL and Super RTL for television formats such as Zimmer frei , KakaduClub or the Dirk Bach Show . She designs and paints film sets for international cinema productions (including Rembrandt , Boat Trip , The Perfume - The Story of a Murderer or The Little Vampire ). As a storyboard artist, she has worked for directors and cameramen of German productions (including Schimanski , Die Hindenburg , Stratosphere Girl and Ladykracher ). As a production designer, she is responsible for the TV series Stromberg .

Otto has been part of the ZDF service program Volle Kanne team since mid-2004 . There she redesigns rooms as a design expert in the “Living and Design” category. In addition, she reports as a reporter in the “House Visits” series on existing living spaces and houses of celebrities, architects, designers and artists.

She realizes art projects worldwide for the entrepreneur Professor HG Näder / Otto Bock, designs and designs house facades, ships and other building projects.

Otto has one son and lives in Cologne.
