The Dirk Bach Show was a comedy sketch show produced by RTL Television from 1992 to 1994 in which Dirk Bach and various guests presented sketches. In the sketches, Dirk Bach embodied some recurring characters, for example Tess, the policewoman .
The first three episodes were filmed as a gap filler for the Christmas break of the daily entertainment program Gottschalk Late Night . The audience ratings were significantly higher than Gottschalk's. Later episodes ran on RTL every Tuesday at 10:45 p.m.
The total of 30 episodes also included a 25-minute football special, a 25-minute Christmas special and a 45-minute special with Bach's favorite sketches. During the show, laughter from the band was apparently played in at random, regardless of whether the laughter was appropriate at this point or not.
