Party Rock is the first studio album by the American duo LMFAO . It was released on July 7, 2009 by the Interscope Records label.
background
The album has features of electronic music with influences from hip-hop , 1980s synth-pop and dance with lyrics about partying and nightlife fun. The EP version was released on July 1st, 2008 on iTunes. The album was for the 2009 Grammy Awards as Best Electronic / Dance Album nominated. It was recorded and mixed at KMA Music in Manhattan . The song Get Crazy was used as the theme song for the MTV reality show Jersey Shore and is used in the iPod / iPhone game Tap Tap Revenge 3 .
Singles
The album's first single was " I'm in Miami Bitch " (the clean version was called "I'm in Miami Trick"), which reached number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 . The second single was La La La , which reached number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100. The third single was Shots , which featured Lil Jon and which came in at # 68 on the Hot 100. The fourth and final single was Yes .
Critical reception
The first reviews of Party Rock were mixed. At Metacritic , which determines a normalized % rating from mainstream reviews, the album received an average rating of 63 based on four reviews.
