Emergence
Party Rock Anthem was released in Germany on January 25th, 2011 and was created as a collaboration between LMFAO and singer Lauren Bennett and GoonRock . The song was written by the duo themselves, and Jamahl Listenbee and Peter Schroeder were also involved in the composition and text. The piece was produced by the producer trio Party Rock (consisting of: Redfoo , Jamahl Listenbee and Kenneth Oliver). Party Rock Anthem was released as a single on December 16, 2010 and was released by Interscope Records , released by Universal Music Publishing , and distributed by Party Rock.
Music video
The music video for Party Rock Anthem was choreographed by Quest Crew . The plot is very similar to the film 28 Days Later and is therefore often interpreted as an allusion to this film or as a parody of this film. In the opening credits a red lettering explains that the two band members RedFoo and Sky Blu fell into a coma on March 1st as a result of too much partying (in the original: ... after excessive party rocking ; in German after excessive party rocking ). We also learn that their single Party Rock Anthem will be released the next day, March 2nd. The following title shows the font "28 Days Later".
After the opening credits, the video shows an abandoned hospital in which RedFoo and Sky Blu awaken from their 28-day coma. Outside the hospital they find a deserted street. Shortly afterwards, an unknown man is dancing down the street to Party Rock Anthem , but despite an express gesture by RedFoo (in the original: Ey, man! What the hell went on with the people, man ?! ) shows no heed for the two. Surprisingly, a second man grabs her shoulders from behind and pulls her behind one of the many wrecked cars that fill the entire street. The dark-skinned man makes it clear to them that the whole world is just partying or, according to his statement, " shuffles " all day . When the beginning of Party Rock Anthem suddenly sounds, he asks the two of them to use earplugs so as not to be swept away by the wave of fun-loving party freaks. The street, initially empty of people, gradually fills up and a man loudly announces the words "Party Rock". A man in a hoodie wants to flee from the dancing crowd, but is surrounded by the people and, as in the film, "infected", his clothes from one second to the next turning into a T-shirt that says "Hi, Mom!" changes. RedFoo and Sky Blu are also infected by the "dance madness" and start to dance while the man with the earplugs flees and disappears from the picture.
The rest of the video shows LMFAO and specially selected dancers performing a complex choreography. In the middle of the song the video is paused for two seconds, then RedFoo and Sky Blu continue the song with the words "Everyday I'm shufflin '". At the end of the video, the duo is shown in a dark alley together with GoonRock and Lauren Bennett, whose part in the song follows immediately. GoonRock only sings along with the chorus, although his voice cannot be heard individually here. The video ends with credits showing the writing "Everyday I'm shufflin '" in capital letters and without word separation or punctuation behind a sketchy "shuffling" man. Almost all dancers or people appearing in the video wear clothes specially created for the video, which include T-shirts with the words "Party Rock Anthem", "GoonRock" and "Everyday I'm shufflin '".
