Gettin 'Over is an electro house , rap and pop song by the French DJ David Guetta and the US singer Chris Willis from Guetta's fourth studio album One Love . A remix version titled Gettin 'Over You was released as the fifth single from the album on April 12, 2010 worldwide. This version contains additional vocals and rap from singer Fergie and the American electro-hop duo LMFAO . The track became a number one hit in France , the UK and the US dance charts. It reached the top 5 in Italy , New Zealand , Austria , Ireland and Australia .

Gettin 'over you
Gettin 'Over You was created by Chris Willis , Will.i.am , Fergie and LMFAO written . In an interview with Digital Spy , David Guetta said of the song "It's one of my many guitar- like club songs - the song is the perfect follow-up to Love Is Gone ." According to Guetta, the Black Eyed Peas originally wanted to record the song for one of their albums, but Guetta declined. Guetta explained, "Even after I refused to let the Peas do the song, Fergie still said," I love this song! "So I said," If you still want the song, we'll do it together. " also wanted to keep Chris Willis on the song as I've worked with him for many years and at the beginning of my career. [...] He's the best singer in the world. "
LMFAO's Red Foo said on MTV News of the song's content, “You're in love with a girl, she wants a relationship with Lil Jon or anyone else. So I'm going to have a hot party until the dream man comes by. "
criticism
Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song 3 stars out of 5. He said Guetta had "neglected the rap part of the LMFAO group." Chris Willis ' singing was praised by Entertainment Weekly : "Willis has something special in his voice and he makes sure that the song reaches its optimal mood and the fans will love it". FemaleFirst 'stated that "Gettin' Over You" was a "huge summer anthem" and gave the song 4 stars out of 5.
Music video
The music video was shot on April 20, 2010 and was directed by Rich Lee, who had previously made music videos with Fergie's Black Eyed Peas . The music video had its world premiere on Thursday, May 18, 2010. The video shows how David Guetta, Chris Willis, Fergie and LMFAO produce the song together. Suddenly a dancing crowd streams into the studio and the recording session turns into a party in the recording studio. According to Guetta, the video alludes to the recordings for the Black Eyed Peas song "I Gotta Feeling," which Guetta was involved in as a producer.
