Wagsberg is a village in the Kronburg municipality in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria .

The village of Wagsberg is just over a kilometer southwest of Kronburg, at an altitude of 625 m above sea level. NN . The river Iller runs immediately to the west of Wagsberg . There is also a hydroelectric power station near Wagsberg. The Iller flows at a height of 612 m before and 603 m after the hydroelectric power station above sea level.

history

Wagsberg originally came about through a clearing settlement . Friedrich von Rothenstein sold Wagsberg to the Rot monastery in 1351 . In 1434 a Hans Haymenhofen zu Hohentann is named as the owner of Wagsberg. Hereditary Marshal Alexander von Pappenheim appears in 1491 as Lord von Wagsberg. In the land register of 1529 and 1534, two estates and four houses are mentioned in Wagsberg. In Wagsberg there is a listed chapel from the 18th century .
