history

The band was founded in 2003 during a meeting in a New York club , the Nublu . After the formation, the band quickly wrote their own songs and released their debut album in 2005 under the same name as the band.

A year after its release, the band recorded the song Crosseyed And Painless for the benefit album Silencio = Muerte: Red Hot + Latin , on which numerous Latin artists released their songs to address the issue of AIDS. Like their second studio album Talk to La Bomb , the benefit album was also released by the Red Hot Organization .

The third album was released on August 5, 2008 in New York City . As a result of the album, the band went on tour in October of that year. In the meantime she interrupted this because Sciubba was pregnant and was traveling to Paris to give birth to her child.

After the three albums that were well received by the band's fans, for example their debut album was named one of the best albums in 2005 by ArtistDirect, the band announced their split on January 25, 2010 on Facebook. The original text read: “It's becoming painfully obvious the band Brazilian Girls is over. We thank you from all our heart for your loving support and all the fun we had. ... Who knows, maybe when we're old and gray we'll do a reunion tour! "(German translation:" It becomes painfully clear that the band Brazilian Girls is over. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for yours Support and all the fun we had together ... Who knows, maybe we'll start a reunion tour later, when we're old and gray ! ”).

The band reunited in April 2012 and in 2015 a new album was announced during a concert at Thalia Hall in Chicago . However, the release of Let's Make Love followed three years later on April 13, 2018.
