John Schneider (2007)

John Richard Schneider (born April 8, 1960 in Mount Kisco , New York ) is an American actor , producer , director and singer .

Life

John Schneider, whose parents are of German descent, attended North Springs High School in Atlanta , Georgia . From 1983 to 1986 he was married to the 1976 Miss America Tawny Elaine Godin. In 1993 he married Elly Castle. Schneider is the father of three children.

He made a career as a country singer in the 1980s and has appeared in many films and television series. The role of Bo Duke in the series A Duke seldom comes alone made him world famous. In 1983 he played alongside Kirk Douglas a fugitive prisoner in Headhunting , an action film directed by Jeff Kanew . In the 1983 film Cannonball Fever , which is the sequel to Hell's Loose Again on the Highway, Schneider was seen alongside John Candy , Alyssa Milano and Eugene Levy . Schneider made his directorial debut in an episode of Ein Duke Seldom Comes Alone in 1985, when he also wrote the screenplay.

In Undercover Cops by Garry Marshall , Schneider played a professor, Dan Aykroyd and Hector Elizondo can also be seen there. In addition, the popular series actor had some appearances in the series Dr. Quinn - a passionate doctor . In 1996 he starred in Twisters and in 2000 Schneider starred in Pam Grier and Chevy Chase in the film Snow Free . Schneider wrote the screenplay, directed and starred alongside Rex Smith in front of the camera for the family comedy Collier & Co. in 2006 . In the series Smallville he played the adoptive father of the young Superman , Jonathan Kent in 103 episodes and directed one episode. From 2008 to 2009 he was in 15 episodes as “Dr. Marshall Bowman ”featured in The Secret Life of American Teenagers .

In his private life, Schneider and his ex-wife Tawny Elaine Godin support children in need. In 1982 he founded the Children's Miracle Network with Marie Osmond . In 1995, he founded FaithWorks Productions, a production company that produces family-oriented formats.
