history
In the song, the protagonist experiences a separation and sings out his longing. It was released on September 14, 1979 and the pop R&B and soul number became a number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and US Cash Box Top 100 . Along with Sad Eyes by Robert John and What a Fool Believes by Doobie Brothers, Still is one of the few number one hits of 1979 on the Billboard Hot 100 that are not disco music .
