history
The song is about a breakup. Sad Eyes is one of the few number one hits of 1979 on the Billboard Hot 100 that did not correspond to the music genre Disco , and John was able to owe the soaring of his song to Disco Demolition Night . Darlene Love also provides the background vocals. The soft rock number was published on May 18, 1979.
