John Schneider (* 1950 ) is an American classical guitarist.

He plays in a pure , Pythagorean and tempered mood . He often plays works in other special guitar tunings, for example by Lou Harrison , LaMonte Young , John Cage and Harry Partch . He also works as a composer and arranger, with his main focus on guitar, harp and percussion.

Schneider is also a member and musical director of Partch , an ensemble that has set itself the task of performing the works of Harry Partch . For the production of the Plectra & Percussion Dances with the ensemble he received a Grammy Award in 2015 for the best classical collecting program.
