Mount Kisco is a city in Westchester County , New York . It has an area of 8.1 km². In 2010 there were 10,877 residents.
history
The first mention was around 1700. The name is based on a word of the local Indian tribe Munsee , asiiskuw means mud in German. The place name was first mentioned in the 1850s by a local postal worker.
Mount Kisco City Hall, St. Mark's Cemetery, United Methodist Church and Parsonage, and Merestead, a residential building, are listed on the United States' National Register of Historic Places .
