Clarity ( English for 'purity') is a song of the German - Russian EDM - musician Zedd , in cooperation with the British singer-songwriter Foxes . The track is the fourth single from his debut album of the same name, Clarity .

Creation and artwork

The song was written jointly by Holly Hafferman , Matthew Koma , Porter Robinson and Anton Zaslavski (Zedd). The single was mixed and produced by Zedd. The single was mastered in the Minneapolis HM Mastering, under the direction of the American Huntley Miller. The arrangement was done by Jesse Taub, the vocal recordings by ghostwriters, the processing (vocal editing) by Ryan Shanahan and Zedd. The song was released under the Interscope Records music label and distributed through Universal Music Publishing . On the cover of the maxi singles - next to the artist name and song title - a visual cross with the Zedds logo as the center point can be seen. The cover picture is identical to that of the album, only the color scheme differs from the original. The artwork of the cover picture is by David D. Navarro, the layout by Liam Ward.

Zedd got the idea to ask Foxes to sing for Clarity while hearing her song Youth . He then contacted her on Skype and asked if she would like to take over the vocals. After looking for Zedd on Wikipedia and doing some research, she accepted the offer.

“Because you're the part of me that
I wish I didn't need.
Persecuted relentlessly,
fight and I don't know why.
If our love is a tragedy why are you my cure?
If our love is insane, why are you my purity? "
