Bassface Sascha

Bassface Sascha (actually Sascha Dürk ) is Breakbeat - DJ the first hour and applied since the 1990s as a pioneer of jungle and drum and bass scene in Germany.

Dürk's career began in the techno field in the late 1980s . Together with producers like Arno Müller-Maiss , he published the earliest techno / acid productions in Germany between 1988 and 1992 under the pseudonyms Absurd, Hypnopedia, New Scene, Duce and Fazer.

In 1991 he put together with Holger Klein in the Mannheim club Milk! and thus contributed to the spread of jungle and drum and bass. A year later, he played the first jungle set on Mayday at a major German rave. From 1992 to 1994 he was resident DJ in the Frankfurt Club XS . He had international appearances at Loveparade , Mayday, One Nation, Kings Of The Jungle, Meditation, Future, Nature One , SonneMondSterne , Sun and Bass and countless other events.

On Evosonic Radio he presented his own show Reload from 1997 , from 1999 he also presented the program Outbreak on the now discontinued HR XXL and had several guest appearances on the program Clubnight on the successor station You FM . He also appeared as a guest VJ at MTV , VIVA and GIGA .

He founded the record label Smoking Drum Recordings in 1994 and mainly published works by German newcomers such as Paderborn Killers and Bassline Generation. After just 20 releases, the label was named the best German drum and bass label at the 1997 Future Music Awards . Sascha himself received an award for best national producer and best DJ. In the following years 2006, 2008 and 2009 he was able to maintain his status as the best German DJ at the Future Music Awards.

His first album, released in 1999 on Mole Listening Pearls , was called Different Faces . In 2002 his work Machine Vs. Smokin 'Drum - Round One with a Perfect Day remix.

In 2008 he had his greatest success to date with the track International Sound on the English label Stereotype .
