Trevor Guthrie
Trevor Guthrie (born February 11, 1973 in North Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian singer . He was the front man of the band soulDecision from 1993 to 2005 and is now on the road as a solo artist.
Career
soulDecision
Trevor Guthrie founded the band soulDecision in 1993 with fellow students David Bowman and Ken Lewko . After the band posted their first chart placement in 1998 with the single Ooh It's Kinda Crazy , they reached number 1 on the Canadian charts in 1999 with Faded . In February 2000, she released her first album, No One Does It Better , which hit the charts in Canada and the United States . In 2005 the band separated.
Solo career
In 2008 he decided to start a solo career. He began with several studio recordings, which he did not release as a single, but offered for free download. He was able to make a name for the first time as a solo artist on platforms such as MySpace.
In the summer of 2013 Guthrie was able to reach the charts in many European countries as the singer of the single This Is What It Feels Like by the Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren . In the German charts, the song moved up to number 42, while it reached the top 10 in Belgium, Great Britain and Hungary, among others. In the field of EDM music, there were then further collaborations, including with the producer R3hab , whereby the song Soundwave was created, which was able to grant a placement in its home country. His collaboration Let It Go with the Dutch musician Laidback Luke achieved similar success .
On June 8, 2015 Guthrie released his solo single Summertime , with which he reached a top 50 position in the Canadian singles charts.
Towards the end of 2017, the Swedish DJ duo Axwell Λ Ingrosso released the song Dreamer , which was produced and premiered at the end of 2016. While they made the song progressive house-heavy in 2016, Dreamer based it on a style after its release that was very similar to that of its predecessor More Than You Know . With the song Guthrie succeeded for the first time since This Is What It Feels Like to place in the single charts of the German-speaking area. Dreamer also achieved high demand in airplay .
Different World , released in December 2018 by Alan Walker , includes a feature with Guthrie called Do It All For You .
