Zoë Johnston
Zoë Johnston is a British singer-songwriter best known for her collaborations with Faithless , Above & Beyond , Bent and Delerium .
Life
Zoë grew up in Nottinghamshire . She made her debut in 2000 as Zed J with the band Neon Heights , for whom she sang some songs from their album A View From The Heights . At the same time she wrote the lyrics for Bent's debut album Programmed to Love . Her voice was also heard on the songs Private Road and Swollen .
In 2001 Zoë started working with the British band Faithless . She accompanied the band on their world tour and had major appearances at several festivals such as the Glastonbury Festival and Rock Werchter . She was able to achieve great success with the song Crazy English Summer .
On November 27th, 2006 Zoë released her first solo album Happenstances on Shiva Records . The album includes an original version of Crazy English Summer , which was first released on Faithless' album Outrospective .
She had other collaborations with The Beautiful South , Sleepthief , Delerium and Above & Beyond , with whom she released the singles No One On Earth and Good For Me . In 2004 and 2006, the two songs were each voted Tune of the Year in Armin van Buuren's radio show A State of Trance .
