In 1992 their first single Highland conquered the top ten of more than ten European countries, in Belgium the group was voted "Band of the Year"; the album "Highland" achieved gold status in South Africa . In 1996 One More Time represented their country Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo with the ethnic ballade Den vilda and took third place. In total, One More Time released four albums and eleven singles during their active time between 1992 and 1997. To date, the band has not officially split up, and further releases are not entirely excluded.

Band history

Peter Grönvall and Nanne Nordqvist had been working together since 1981, when Grönvall joined Nordqvist's then rock band MTV as keyboard player. In 1984 they founded the group "Sound of Music" together with Angelique Widengren and took part twice (1986 with Eldorado and 1987 with Alexandra ) in the Melodifestivalen , the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . The group separated in 1988. In 1989 they founded the band “Peter's Pop Squad”, whose members included Maria Rådsten. After the group separated in 1991, the three founded the group "One More Time". With Therese Löf, the quartet was finally complete.

The first single Highland was a great success, the single was in the top 10 of many European countries. Shortly after the release of the album Highland , Therese Löf left the group. The remaining members decided to continue with the three of them and continued their promotional tour through Europe. The results were impressive: Gold status in South Africa, “Band of the Year” in Belgium . One More Time were also the first “western band” to appear in the Czech Republic after it was founded.

In 1994 the second album, One More Time, was released , but could not build on the success of his previous album . In 1995 the three decided to break new ground and took part in the Melodifestivalen as songwriters . The ballad Det vackraste ("Das Schönste"), sung by Cecilia Vennersten, took second place and was a great national success: It stormed number 1 in the Swedish charts, got platinum status in Sweden and Norway and was named Song of the Year. Having got a taste for it, One More Time took part in the following year with the ethnic ballad Den vilda (“The Wild One ”) - and won the preliminary rounds.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 , which took place in Oslo , One More Time took third place after Ireland (Eimear Quinn - The Voice ) and Norway (Elisabeth Andreassen - I evighet ). The album Den vilda , which was released soon after, was the group's first album in Swedish. In 1997 an English version of the album was released, the title song Living in a Dream is the English version of Cecilia Vennersten's hit Det vackraste . Living in A Dream is One More Time's last album to date; the group has not yet officially split up.

In 1998 Peter Grönvall wrote the soundtrack for the film adaptation of Astrid Lindgren's " Kalle Blomqvist " . Nanne Grönvall started a successful solo career and is now one of Sweden's most popular singers. Maria Rådsten withdrew from show business for a while, but was also able to record a solo success in 2003 with her debut single Head over Heels . Occasionally the two of them continued to perform together, at Nordqvist's appearance at the 2003 music festival with Evig kärlek (“Ewige Liebe”), Rådsten was part of the background choir.
