Robin Bengtsson (born April 27, 1990 in Svenljunga ) is a Swedish singer . He became known for participating in the Swedish version of the casting show Idol and the Melodifestivalen in 2016 . He represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song I Can't Go On in Kiev after winning the final of the 2017 Melodi Festival on March 11, 2017.

Robin Bengtsson was born on April 27, 1990 in Svenljunga in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län . He learned to play the trumpet during his childhood and started playing the guitar when he was 13.

Today Bengtsson lives in Stockholm .

Career

In 2008 he took part in the Swedish version of the casting show Idol and reached third place behind Alice Svensson and Kevin Borg. With the song Constellation Price , he finished fifth in the finale of the Melodifestival 2016 , but the song was able to place second in the Swedish charts. The following year he won the Melodifestivalen with the title I Can't Go On and competed for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev . He achieved third place in the first semi-final on May 9, 2017 and fifth place in the final on May 13 with 344 points.
