The Herrey’s are a Swedish band made up of three brothers: Per, born on August 9, 1958, Richard, born on August 19, 1964 and Louis, born on November 3, 1966.
Career
The brothers first won the preliminary round and then the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 with their hit Diggi-loo Diggy-ley . In that year and the following, they performed frequently and toured many times , but did not achieve another international hit.
Diggi-loo Diggy-ley , however, developed into a mega hit in Sweden and has not been forgotten there to this day. The text of the hit is memorable and at least partially well known. It is about a lucky man who wears gold shoes, which everyone envy because they help to overcome any obstacle. The Diggiloo summer music festival also bears the name of this song.
The Herrey brothers may have been Sweden's first boy band . They received their training as music and show people in the USA. Of the three brothers, only Richard Herrey pursued a musical career in the field of musicals . In 1997 Richard Herrey translated the musical West Side Story into Swedish, and it was performed over two years at the Oskartheater in Stockholm. Not only was the play produced by him, but Richard Herrey also played one of the leading roles. In early 2006 Richard released his first solo album Jag e Kung . Today Per is a lawyer in Gothenburg and Louis is a teacher in a Swedish Mormon school . By the way, they always have a few appearances as Herreys, B. at the Eurovision Greatest Hits concert in London 2015.
