Lena Philipsson (actually Maria Magdalena Filipsson , also known as Lena Ph or Lena PH ; born January 19, 1966 in Vetlanda ) is a Swedish pop singer .

biography

She had her first big success in 1986 with the song Kärleken är evig , with which she took second place at the Melodifestivalen. Other successful songs such as Dansa i neon (1987) and Om igen (1988) followed. Other hits were Tänd ett ljus (1989), Månsken i augusti (1994) and Stjärnorna (1995).

In the mid-2000s, Philipsson made a big comeback after a few less successful years: in 2004 she won the Swedish Melodifestivalen with the song Det gör ont , which she then performed in English at the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul under the title It Hurts . The Swedish version was number one on the Swedish charts for seven weeks . She reached sixth place at the ESC. Big hits like Delirium , Lena Anthem (2004), Unga pojkar & äldre men , Han jobbar i affär (2005) and her second number one , Nu när du gått (2008), a duet with the singer / songwriter Orup, followed . He had previously written several of her hits, including Det gör ont .

In 2006 Philipsson moderated the final of the Swedish ESC preliminary decision, which the ESC winner of 1991, Carola , was able to win again.

Although she hasn't had a major hit since 2008, Phillipson is still high in the Swedish album charts. Her two last studio albums Världen snurrar (2012) and Jag är ingen älskling (2015) each reached number four. Her most successful album Det gör ont en stund på natten men inget på dan from 2004 stayed in the charts for almost a whole year and was number one for five weeks.
