John Hassim Lundvik (born January 27, 1983 in London ) is a Swedish singer , record producer , voice actor and former sprinter .

life and career

Lundvik was adopted by a Swedish couple who were living in London at the time of his birth. He grew up in the United Kingdom until he was six years old before moving to Växjö in 1989 . To this day he has not met his biological parents.

Music career

In 2010 he started his musical career when he composed the song When You Tell the World You're Mine for the wedding of Victoria of Sweden and Daniel of Sweden . He also composed music for Anton Ewald , Isac Elliot and Sanna Nielsen as well as for the film Easy Money - Feel the fear . Also for the Swedish series Empire .

In 2016 he took part in the program Allsång på Skansen , where he performed a duet with Lill Lindfors . Two years later he took part in the Melodifestivalen 2018 with his song My Turn , with which he reached third place.

In 2019 he took part in the Melodifestivalen 2019 with his song Too Late for Love , with which he entered the final on March 9, 2019 and won it. He represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv , Israel . He reached fifth place in the final. In addition, as a composer he was able to win the British preliminary decision for the ESC 2019 Eurovision 2019: You Decide . The song Bigger Than Us was written by Lundvik with Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin and Jonas Thander. It is interpreted by Michael Rice .

Sports career

In addition to his music career, Lundvik was also active as a sprinter. In 2005 he was part of the 4 x 100 meter relay team IFK Växjö , with which he won the bronze medal at the Swedish championships in 2005. His personal bests are as follows:

  • 60 meter run: 6.99 seconds (Växjö, February 3, 2002)
  • 100 meter run: 10.84 seconds ( Karlskrona , June 12, 2006)
  • 200 meter run: 22.42 seconds ( Vellinge , August 17, 2003)
