Svante Thuresson (born February 7, 1937 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish jazz and pop singer.

Career

Thuresson took the first steps of his musical career as a drummer . From 1963 to 1967 he sang in the vocal group Gals and Pals , with which he had his first television appearances. Together with the singer Lill Lindfors he won the Melodifestivalen in 1966 and was therefore allowed to represent his country at the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson in Luxembourg in 1966 . The duo reached second place with the jazzy hit Nygammal vals .

In 1977 he took part again in the Melodifestivalen with the jazzy disco piece Johan B. Lund and came second behind the winners Forbes .

Since the 1970s, Thuresson has been a singer, sometimes with jazz bands or jazz orchestras. He also performed with Viktoria Tolstoy .
