Roger Pontare (born October 17, 1951 in Slagnäs ) is a Swedish singer .
Career
In 1994 he won the Melodifestivalen with Marie Bergman with the song Stjärnorna (Eng .: the stars). At the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin , the duo reached a respectable 13th place out of 25 starters. In 2000 he won the Melodifestivalen again, this time as a solo artist, with the song När vindarna viskar mitt namn (German: “When the winds whisper my name”). The song reached number 2 on the Swedish charts . In Stockholm he performed the English version When Spirits Are Calling My Name . He reached the 7th place. At the Melodifestivalen 2017 he was eliminated in the preliminary round with the song Himmel och hav (German: sky and sea ).
