Tommy Körberg (born July 4, 1948 in Norsjö ) is a Swedish singer , actor and musical performer .

Career

As the winner of the Melodifestivalen in 1969, he was allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid in 1969 for his home country. He reached ninth place with the hit Judy, min vän . In the 1970s he sang with the bands Solar Plexus and Made in Sweden . From the 1980s he was mainly active as a musical actor. He has appeared in Les Misérables , Chess and The Sound of Music . He had a film role as Klein-Klipp in the youth film Ronja Robber's Daughter from 1984. After another victory in the Swedish preselection, he was allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988 in Dublin . With Stad i ljus he reached number 12.

In the 2000s he was in the musicals Chess (also in a London performance), My Fair Lady and the Swedish play Rivierans guldgossar . In 2011 he was a jury member of the TV3 - talent show True talent . He also sang with Benny Anderssons Orkester , which former ABBA member Benny Andersson founded in 2001.

In April 2017 released album Worlds Collide by the Swedish metal band Dead by April , he contributed the vocals for the song For Every Step .
