Oresund University
Öresund University (Dan. Øresundsuniversitetet , Swed. Öresundsuniversitetet ) was the name of a transnational research network of independent colleges in the Danish-Swedish Øresund Region . It was launched in 1997, but was given up again on August 31, 2012. The failure was due to unclear funding. Between 1997 and 2013, the network received a total of around 31 million euros in funding, around half of which were INTERREG funds from the EU regional fund .
In addition to a small liaison secretariat, Öresund Science Region , an office based in Copenhagen and Lund, existed from 2002 , which was supposed to network universities, the state and the private sector in order to generate “knowledge-based growth”.
