Massiel (1968)

Massiel (born August 2, 1947 in Madrid ; actually María de los Ángeles Santamaría Espinosa ) is a Spanish pop singer .

Massiel's first single was released in 1966 and with the 1967 single Rosas en el mar , written by Luis Eduardo Aute , she became known throughout Spain and Latin America.

She celebrated the greatest success of her career so far when she won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968 with her song La, la, la . In the 1970s she also worked as a theater actress.
