Las Ketchup is a Spanish girl group . The group consists of the four sisters Lola, Lucía, Pilar and Rocío Muñoz from Córdoba in Andalusia , although Rocío Muñoz has only been there since 2006. Her biggest hit was The Ketchup Song from 2002.
Band history
The four sisters grew up in Cordoba, Spain . Her father is the flamenco guitarist Juan Muñoz, who is also known under the stage name El Tomate . Logically, their first album was then also called Hijas del Tomate (Tomate's Daughters) . Her brother is Juan Manuel Muñoz , called Juanma, who is also a guitarist like his father.
With their hit The Ketchup Song (Aserejé) they landed as a trio - still without Rocío Muñoz - a worldwide summer hit in 2002 . In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as in numerous other countries, they were number one on the charts for weeks . The party dance of the year 2002 was created for this song .
After that, however, they did not achieve any further success - their successor single Kusha las Payas only entered the charts at number 76 in Germany - and they remained a one-hit wonder . In 2006 the sister quartet took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens and took 21st place with 18 points with the song Bloody Mary . Since then there have been hardly any signs of life from the group.
