Mocedades is a Basque singing group.

Band history

In 1967 the sisters Amaya, Izaskun and Estíbaliz Uranga founded the group Las Hermanas Uranga (Engl .: The Uranga Sisters). After their brothers and other friends joined them, the name was changed to Voces y guitarras (English: voices & guitars). The now eight-member group got a record deal and has been operating under the name Mocedades since 1969 and was allowed to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest 1973 for Spain . Her title Eres Tú with the main chant by Amaya Uranga took second place. The single became an international hit and reached number 9 in the US charts and number 15 in the German charts. There were numerous cover versions, the group itself sang an English, German, French and Italian language version.

The group, which made a number of staff changes, continuously released records, mainly for the Spanish-speaking market.
