Alfred García Castillo (born March 14, 1997 in El Prat de Llobregat , Catalonia ), stage name Alfred , is a Spanish singer . Together with Amaia he represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Tu canción at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon .

Life

García began taking trombone and singing lessons at the age of seven. In addition, he taught himself to play guitar, drums and keyboards. He is currently studying jazz and modern music at a music school in Barcelona.

Career

At the age of 15 he released his first album "Beginning", which he produced himself. Two more albums followed and he wrote the soundtrack for a film.

In 2016 he took part in the fourth season of the talent show "La Voz" (the Spanish version of "The Voice") with the song "Waiting on the World to Change" by John Mayer, but did not survive the blind audition.

A year later, he took part in the audition for the ninth season of the talent show Operación Triunfo and made it to the "Academy Class" on October 23, 2017. On January 29th, 2018 he prevailed together with Amaia in the gala OT a Eurovisión  , and later represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song "Tu canción".
