Conchita Bautista

Conchita Bautista (aka María Concepción Bautista Fernández , born October 27, 1936 in Seville ) is a Spanish singer and actress.

At a young age, she came to Madrid from her native Andalusia , where she quickly established herself as an actress and singer. Her interpretations of Andalusian music earned her a record deal with Columbia Records Spain . She was able to emerge from the Spanish preselection for the Grand Prix Eurovision 1961 as the winner and then took ninth place in the competition in Cannes with her title Estando Contigo . Estando Contigo was Spain's first ever contribution in the history of the competition. In 1965 she was also at the Eurovision Song Contest , this time in Naples . There she did not get a point for her title Qué bueno, qué bueno and was last like Germany, Belgium and Finland.

In her further life she had a variety of minor roles and singing appearances on Spanish television.
