Matthias Oomen

Matthias Oomen (born September 15, 1981 in Ettenheim ) is a German politician and journalist. In the past, Oomen was a lobbyist for the Pro Bahn passenger association.

Life

Oomen grew up in Ortenau , near Freiburg im Breisgau . He attended the Ferdinand Ruska elementary school in Kappel-Grafenhausen and then the integrated vocational high school in Lahr / Black Forest . Oomen lives in Berlin .

Alliance 90 / The Greens

Oomen, who had belonged to the SPD until 2003, was elected spokesman for the Greens in Wesel on the Lower Rhine in 2006. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as a competent citizen in various committees of the city council.

From 2015 to 2016 he was the spokesman for the regional mobility working group in the alliance of the Berlin regional association .

Lobbying for the Pro Bahn passenger association

From 2008 at the latest, Oomens publications on nationwide transport policy will be comprehensible, including in the magazine Der Fahrgast . From 2009 to 2013, Oomen was press spokesman and capital city representative of the Pro Bahn passenger association and from November 2011 to 2013 editor-in-chief of the transport policy magazine Der Fahrgast . From 2012 to 2015 Oomen was a member of the state board of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional association .

In 2010, Oomen was sent to Stuttgart by his association on the occasion of the arbitration at Stuttgart 21 . The state center for political education Baden-Württemberg registered him in this context as a research assistant . Pro Bahn and Oomen reject the planned underground station , but speak out in favor of a high-speed line between Stuttgart and Ulm.
