Bucks Fizz is a British pop band that was formed especially for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 .

Band history

After ABBA won the competition in 1974 and Brotherhood of Man in 1976 , the general opinion in Europe was that a band with two male and two female members had the best chance of winning. In this case, Great Britain was right, because Bucks Fizz won the ESC on April 4, 1981 with Making Your Mind Up . Then it was decided to keep the band going.

1981 and 1982 saw two more number one hits with The Land of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies . By 1986 eleven singles were able to place in the British top 20 , but after 1988 the successes failed .

The band still exists today with changing line-ups. Bobby G. is the only remaining founding member in the current formation.

The other first members released the album The FZ of Pop in the formation The Fizz in 2017 and returned to the charts.
