Precious was a British pop - girl group that in 1999 the UK during Euro Vision Song Contest in Jerusalem represented and thus gained great notoriety.

Band history

The group called Precious was founded in late 1998 by friends Sophie McDonnell and Jenny Frost . In a series of auditions , the other band members named Anya Lahiri , Kalli Clark-Sternberg and Louise Rose were determined. Rose was appointed lead singer.

In 1999 Precious competed for Great Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem. With their hit Say It Again , they landed in twelfth place with 38 points. As a result, the band was able to sign a contract with the record label EMI . Say It Again was released as a single and landed sixth on the UK singles chart .

On November 20, 2000, Precious released their debut album called Precious . However, the commercial success diminished at the end of 2000 and so they agreed to go their separate ways and to continuously focus on the solo careers of the members. McDonnell presented the BBC 's children's program , Frost replaced Kerry Katona in 2001 - who had resigned because of her pregnancy - in the British girl group Atomic Kitten and Lahiri turned back to her modeling career, where in 2003 she became one of the FHM “Pit Girls” . On the side she started a new career as an actress , where she played alongside Jacqueline Bisset and Daniel Bernhardt . Rose also became an actress and Clark-Sternberg remained loyal to the music as a singer.
