Live Report was a British band .
Participation in the Eurovision Song Contest
The band around the Maltese Ray Caruana was founded in 1989 to take part in A song for Europe , the British preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . With the song Why do I always get it wrong? Composed by John Beeby and written by Brian Hodgson . the group was able to prevail in a field of participants with 12 singers and groups with 111,996 votes against the second placed Julie C with 51,449 votes. At the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 in Lausanne , the band was also successful with the song, which was arranged slightly differently, and achieved second place with 130 points. Despite the good ranking, the song was a commercial flop and the fifth British contribution in a row that could not place in the top 40 of the single charts. The band broke up shortly after participating.
After the dissolution
Ray Caruana took part in the preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in his home country of Malta in 1994 and took second place with Scarlet song . He now has his own stage show in which he sings songs by Sammy Davis Jr. It has become quiet around the other band members.
