Nicki French (2005)

Nicki French (born September 26, 1964 in Carlisle , Cumbria ) is an English singer and dancer.

Life & Career

French grew up in Tenterden ( Kent , England ). She is best known for the dance cover version of Total Eclipse of the Heart , a number 1 hit by Bonnie Tyler from the 1980s. It reached number 2 on the Billboard charts and number 5 in the UK. With For All We Know and Did You Ever Really Love Me , she then had two smaller successes in her home country.

It was only five years later that it was able to get into the British charts again. She represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm with the title Don't Play That Song Again , which with 16th place, however, meant the worst performance of the British in the competition until then. Nevertheless, the song still reached number 34 on the pop charts.
