Olsen Brothers
The Olsen Brothers (Danish: Brødrene Olsen ) are the two Danish brothers Jørgen (born March 15, 1950 in Odense ) and Niels "Noller" (born April 13, 1954 ) Olsen.
Career
They began their career as rock and pop musicians in 1965 with the formation of the band The Kids . The Olsens gained their first stage experience as the opening act for the Kinks at their concert in Copenhagen . In 1967 The Kids released their first single .
From March 1971 both brothers were members of the Danish ensemble von Hair , with whom they later toured in Denmark , Norway and Sweden . The first of so far twelve albums by the Olsen Brothers was released in 1972. In the 1980s and 1990s, the brothers were not musically active.
In 2000 they made their comeback in Stockholm by winning the Eurovision Song Contest . With the song Fly on the Wings of Love (orig .: Smuk som et Stjerneskud ) written by Jørgen Olsen , they also landed an internationally commercially successful hit. Since 1978 they have taken part in the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest, partly as a duo, partly Jørgen Olsen as a soloist. The latter tried in 2007.
