Soluna Samay Kettel-Ziegler (born August 27, 1990 in Antigua , Guatemala ) is a Danish singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of German-Swiss descent.
As a child, she already performed in pedestrian zones and at street music festivals as part of her father's street music band, Gee Gee & Soluna .
Soluna Samay represented Denmark at the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku with the song Should've Known Better after she had qualified in the semifinals. She landed in 23rd place.
Her only album to date with self-composed songs was released in 2011.
Life
Soluna Samay grew up in Guatemala as the daughter of the Swiss Annelis Ziegler and the German Gerd George Kettel. In 2000 the family moved to the Danish island of Bornholm . Soluna Samay lives in Copenhagen, where she studied musicology.
