The King Fahd International Airport (also King Fahd airport ) is the airport of the Saudi Arabian city of Dammam . It serves as a hub for Saudi Arabian Airlines . In terms of floor space, it is the largest airport in the world.
history
The airport opened on November 28, 1999. For use by civil aviation, it replaced the previous Dhahran airport , which was operated by mixed military and civilian operations and became a purely military base. In contrast to this airport close to the city, Dammam Airport is around 30 kilometers outside the city center.
Airlines and Destinations
The airport is served by many national and international airlines. In German-speaking countries, Lufthansa connects Frankfurt with Dammam daily via Kuwait .
