Anja Nissen (born November 6, 1995 in Winmalee , New South Wales ) is a Danish - Australian singer , dancer and actress .
Career
Anja Nissen was born as the daughter of Danish emigrants in Winmalee near the Blue Mountains . When she was six years old, she started singing.
For the first time on television came to Nissen 2008, when she twelve years old at the talent show Australia's Got Talent participated. She made it to the semi-finals. She then appeared on Young Talent Time , Mornings with Kerri-Anne and Schools Spectacular and was even allowed to sing the Danish national anthem to Crown Princess Mary of Denmark .
In 2014 she took part in the third season of The Voice Australia . In the will.i.am team , she prevailed in all rounds and finally won the final. In return, she got a recording deal with Universal Music , a prize of $ 100,000 and a car.
In 2016 Nissen took part in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2016 , the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . With the song Never Alone she reached the superfinal and received 36% of the votes, which was only enough for second place behind Lighthouse X , which got 42% of the vote.
In 2017 she repeated her participation in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix . She came back to the superfinal, which she finally won. She was allowed to represent Denmark with the song Where I Am at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev , where she reached the final and came in 20th place with 77 points (69 jury points and 8 audience points from televoting).
