Life
Seebach made his first appearances as an organist as a teenager. He played in several bands and orchestras and was also known by the nickname Boogie-Woogie-Tommy . From 1965 he became a member and songwriter of the Danish band Sir Henry And His Butlers . From 1976 his solo career began, his debut album Tommygun was released and he worked as a music producer for his record company EMI . From 1979, Seebach took part in the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix a total of seven times , the Danish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest . In the end, he took part in the contest three times:
- In 1979 he won the Danish preselection with the song Disco Tango and reached 6th place in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1979 .
- In 1981 he won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix again, this time with singer Debbie Cameron . Their disco title Krøller eller ej took 11th place at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 .
- 1993: His third victory in the preselection brought him only fourth from last place at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 . He played the hit Under stjernerne på himlen together with his band.
In the 1990s it had become more difficult for him as a musician. A new version of his old hit Krøller eller ej brought him a brief comeback.
Seebach, who was married and had three children, suffered from alcohol addiction . He died of a heart attack at the age of 53. Although he managed to overcome his addiction, the cause of his death was attributed to this circumstance.
