Raquel Rastenni
Raquel Rastenni (born August 21, 1915 in Copenhagen as Anna Rachel Rastén ; † August 17, 1998 in Skodsborg ) was a Danish pop singer .
Rastenni had performances with orchestras or her own swing trio from 1938. In October 1943 she and her parents, who were Russian emigrants of Jewish faith, had to flee to Sweden because Denmark was under German occupation . She returned to Denmark in 1945. She continued her singing career and in 1953 had achieved Denmark's first gold record with the single Hele ugen alene . She won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 1958 and was therefore allowed to take part in the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson . With the hit Jeg rev et blad ud af min dagbog she landed in 8th place.
In the 1980s she retired from the music business.
Raquel Rastenni was married twice. She had a twin sister (Lea Rastén) who did not return to Denmark after fleeing to Sweden. Her older brother was the Danish journalist Adolph Rastén .
