Ulla Pia

Ulla Pia (born February 17, 1945 in Copenhagen as Ulla Pia Nielsen ; † August 22, 2020 in Gammel Holte ) was a Danish pop singer in the 1960s and 1970s.

She made her first major appearances as a singer with jazz orchestras. As the winner of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 1966, she was allowed to compete at the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson 1966 in Luxembourg for her home country Denmark. With her hit " Stop - men laying er go" she only made it to 14th place. The dance performance by a couple who accompanied her performance was remarkable.

In the next few years she released a few more singles and she also appeared in music films on Danish television.
