Christina Chanée ( Thai : ค ริ สติ นา ชา นี ), (actually Christina Ratchanee Birch Wongskul * January 6, 1979 ), also known under the name Chanée , is a Danish - Thai singer. Together with the singer Tomas N'Evergreen she represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo , where both took fourth place.

The daughter of a Danish mother and a Thai father was born in Denmark, where she grew up as an only child. At the age of five, she lived with her family in Thailand for several months. Her father died when she was 15 years old, her mother in early 2010.

Chanée began to be enthusiastic about music and singing at an early age. Up to the age of 17, she successfully took part in numerous talent competitions and also won a songwriting competition. After spending several years in other European countries and Asia, she moved to Copenhagen. There she was the front woman of the cover bands Diva2Diva and Sanne Jam and in 2003 she won a songwriting competition with Johann Peisner for the soundtrack for Charlotte Sachs Bostrup's family comedy Kærlighed ved første hik 3 - Anja efter Viktor . For the film she interpreted the song Gone Away . In the same year, Chanée worked again with the director on the Danish comedy Askepop - The Movie (2003).

In 2004 Chanée became a member of the Nubian Fräuleins , who appeared regularly on the Danish entertainment program Endelig Fredag ​​on the public broadcaster DR1 . The greatest success in Chanée's music career so far came in early February 2010 when she won the Danish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). Together with the Dane Tomas N'Evergreen she formed the duo Chanée & N'Evergreen and prevailed against nine competitors with the English-language title In a Moment Like This . The ESC-experienced Swede Thomas G: son , who had selected Chanée from over 50 candidates, was responsible for the pop song . Chanée & N'Evergreen represented Denmark at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest on May 27, 2010 in Oslo in the second semi-final. They made it into the final, which took place two days later, where they finished fourth in the victory of the German singer Lena . The title stayed in the Danish singles charts for several weeks, where it reached number two, and was followed by an album of the same name.

Christina Chanée lives in Frederiksberg , Copenhagen. She is in a relationship with the bassist Mikkel Riber and has a daughter.
