Johnny Logan
Johnny Logan , actually Seán Patrick Michael Sherrard O'Hagan (born May 13, 1954 in Frankston near Melbourne ), is an Irish singer and composer .
biography
Johnny Logan was born the son of Irish star tenor Patrick O'Hagan .
Logan celebrated his greatest successes at the Eurovision Song Contest . In 1980 he won the competition in The Hague with the title What's Another Year, composed by Shay Healy . He also won on his second participation in 1987 in Brussels . The winning title Hold Me Now came from his pen. Logan competed with the ballad even though his marriage had broken up a few days earlier. He had written the song for his wife.
In 1992 he composed the Irish contribution Why Me? , with which the singer Linda Martin won the Eurovision Song Contest . Linda Martin had already come second in the competition with Terminal 3, also composed by Logan, in 1984 .
Johnny Logan wants to build on his great successes again since 2007. With the album Irish Connection he succeeded in Scandinavia , where he was number 1 in the album charts in Denmark ( platinum ), Sweden ( gold ) and Norway (double platinum). Concerts in these countries were sold out. In 2008 the album Irishman in America followed . The long player Nature of Love was released in early 2010 . That same year Logan appeared as Arthur in the rock opera Excalibur . In 2017 he presented the album It Is What It Is , a kind of musical life balance with very different musical styles from jazz to rock 'n' roll . Logan commented, “Because by changing my style so often that it confused not only myself but my audience as well, it sometimes felt like I didn't have a real musical identity. Apart from my Eurovision songs. "
Johnny Logan lives in Hofolding, southeast of Munich .
