Maxi (singer)
Maxi (* 23. February 1950 in Dublin as Irene McCoubrey ) is an Irish singer and presenter .
Raised in Dublin, she was part of the girls' trio Maxi, Dick and Twink in the late 1960s . After that, she sang in holiday clubs. She represented Ireland at the Concours Eurovision de la Chanson 1973 in Luxembourg ; with the pop song Do I Dream she reached tenth place. From 1977 she was a member of the girl group Sheeba , with which she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981 .
After the band broke up, Maxi became a presenter for the RTÉ radio station . She was mainly heard on the radio, but also moderated on television.
