Cathal Dunne

Cathal Dunne later also Cahal Dunne (* 1953 in Cork ) is an Irish pop singer .

After studying music in Cork, he successfully took part in various song festivals. He won the Castlebar Song Contest in 1974 and was allowed to compete at the Yamaha Music Festival for Ireland in Tokyo in 1976 . As the winner of the Irish preselection, he was allowed to perform with his own composition Happy Man at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 in Jerusalem . He reached fifth place there.

In 1983 he moved to the United States after giving a few concerts there. He is an active singer and lives in Pittsburgh .
